The Needed Attitude Towards The Nigerian Election In 2023

In my study of the sciences, I learnt a bit about quantum entanglement, a phenomenon whereby particles interact and vibrate in unison and are then separated but remain connected by something that defies logic. This to me illustrates the story of us under the culture of impunity, abusive relationship with our self genocidal system cum state within the state.

Agitation however, is infectious even if you do not share the crowd’s conviction. There’s hardly anything you can do about it than let the wave run its course because nothing is passed on more easily than emotions. It infects the unconscious and takes it hostage.

Isn’t it interesting how we call attention to ourselves by complaining about things we can actually do something about?

It remains the constitutional rights of any citizen (so qualified based on constitutional provisions) to run for public office. You can’t take that from anyone no matter how morally bankrupt they may seem, provided there are no criminal conviction against such.

Understand that Political campaigns have no polarity. Publicity remains Publicity and the more you dwell on what you don’t want instead of promoting and galvanizing support for that which you do desire with the time you have, the more you promote what you don’t want unwittingly.

This attitude of bickering and agitating against individuals has never worked in the interest of the collective. It helped stampede the worst of souls to power and we seemed to have demonstrably learnt nothing from our experience with the continuance in same trajectory.

I believe by now with the experience from 2015 till date, we are clear on what we do not want as a people… can we now begin to define that which we desire in leadership and begin rallying support for leaders that embody the attributes that matter?

Insults don’t win elections. Hating on people who will support people you don’t like also is not a value proposition. You can’t guilt trip anyone into doing things your way. Put in the work and identify people who mirror your desire in leadership and push for their emergence. The election is here already. #GetUnderstanding
