“NO GREE FOR ANYBODY”
A lot is lost in communication in our clime.
I must first commiserate with the Nigeria Police Force having to work in an hostile environment that warrants eternal vigilance. There is no doubt that the polity is heated and fifth columnists and insurrectionists alike are seeking justification to unleash chaos in the country.
Any worthy objective observer of the clime would tell you that the stage is set with the demoralization of our youth, who are mostly disenfranchised and despondent coupled with the rising tides in the lack of moral standards and the penchant for learning only via experience, destabilization of our economy and pockets of crisis and early warning signs that are mostly normalized with cynicism and skepticism rather than taken seriously.
‘No agree For Anybody’ is a humorous and playful phrase deployed by our youth as a coping mechanism. An effective community Policing principle would attest to this if allowed to thrive, and to criminalize this expression in a few words without elucidating the underlying issues, would be to demonstrate the dearth of empathy on the side of our authorities.
Nigerians need to feel a sense of ownership in the affairs of their nation and for this to happen the restoration of unity in diversity must be prioritized.
Government must ensure safety and security of life and property across the country by ensuring inter-agency collaboration to decisively engage crime even before they happen. For this to work all hinderances to Police’s critical budgets must be removed and personal interest over national interest jettisoned and condemned where they raise their ugly heads. This is one of the critical promise made by the ruling party during their campaign alongside the construction of a dynamic economy for posterity.
Our youth needs engagement, quality education (formal and informal) and general human capital development that would prepare them for employability. Through this the polity can foster unity and stability rather than fuel turf wars.
While aligning with the Nigeria Police Force for us to be mindful with the endorsement of veiled threats to the peace of our nation, let me stress that the REVOLUTION required to put Nigeria on track is that of a Change of Mindset and not the emotionally driven chaos that makes things far worse than what we have today.
Don’t let the fear of missing out seduce you into fueling any agenda you know nothing about. We have mostly used the phrase in question jokingly and now that we have been made aware of the underlying plot, let us be circumspect and tone down the push of triggers that may smother the semblance of peace we currently enjoy.

This is a good time for the Police to put their house in order and ensure an effective internal accountability mechanism to avoid needless slips that can trigger the uprising as experienced before.
The IGP MUST at this point demand the report and data of all the Police interventions on Police brutality cases across the country. Every IGP since 2017 till date has been denied of this report by the internal political forces that is currently frustrating the effective operation of the constitutionally empowered the Police Complaint. Response Unit.
If this bottleneck is not removed, the future may be ominous. The people want justice served and seen to be served. This has been working efficiently until some people rolled it back. Slogans may not be as harmful as the dereliction of duty of critical elements within the Police structures.
Fix this and be on alert. 🚔
